Do I need a referral ?
Yes GP or Medical specialist referrals are required for all appointments. Referrals will also be accepted by Nursing or Allied health professionals with GP approval
Does Medicare cover my appointment costs?
Partially All consultations attract a Medicare rebate. Please refer to Fee schedule for more information. This does not apply to DVA, TAC or Workcover clients
Do you bulk Bill?
No Each consultation attracts a Medicare rebate, but bulk billing is not available
Will my private health fund cover costs?
No Private health funds do not cover the cost of consultations by a Nurse Practitioner
Can I claim my Medicare rebate on the day of my appointment?
Yes Medicare rebates will be claimed and processed at your appointment
Can I claim my Medicare rebate if I pay by cash or credit card?
Yes Your Medicare rebate can be claimed and processed at your appointment
Do you see TAC, Work cover and DVA clients?
Yes
Do you provide dressings?
No The Nurse Practitioner will advise you about the best dressings to manage your wound. You will need to purchase these dressings to bring to each appointment.
Do I still need to see the District Nurses/Practice/GP to have my dressing changed?
Yes This service is an assessment and consultative service and does not have the capacity to provide routine dressing changes. You will need to keep seeing your district nurses/practice nurse/GP to have your dressings changed, or continue to attend your own wound management under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner.
Is there parking available?
Yes Parking is available at the Wattle Street Entrance
Do you do home visits?
Yes Home visits can be arranged if clients are unable to attend the clinic.
What days does the service operate?
Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 4.00 pm. Mondays are reserved for regional visits to support clients through the TAC or Worksafe. Please note clinic times may vary
